The athletes you will work with will have a wide-range of natural talents, attention spans and outlooks on what is important. Use the links below to access materials to help you develop as a coach. To help you adjust to the didactic process of teaching in this environment the "Coaching Youth Soccer Players - Methodology" section describes best practices for establishing an environment in which your players can learn. The "Coaching Sessions" section contains practices for different age groups and is a starting point for developing a season-plan for your team. Each year WSC, the USSF and other local organizations run clinics and workshops to help you gain insights and to build community. "Game Day" is a brief description of how to manage the stresses of playing actual matches.
The "Coach-Player-Parent" page contains materials that will help you establish your most important working relation (that's the one with the player!) and a potentially problematic relationship (that would be the one with the parents of the player!). There is no shortage of materials for you to access on the web. Several are identified on the "Additional Coach Resources" page.
Coaching Sessions <-- Good stuff!
