VOLUNTEERS

Welcome to Woodland Soccer Club's Volunteer section.  Our club is a not-for-profit, all volunteer-run organization. There is a tremendous amount of work that is required to organize soccer games for the 1,100 Woodland kids and their families every fall.

As in many volunteer organizations, there are a lot of tasks to be accomplished.  We invite all parents of Woodland players to give back to the club by volunteering in some capacity.  This may mean assisting with coaching, setting up fields, or perhaps taking on an administrative role with our Board of Directors.  In whatever capacity your volunteerism takes you, we welcome your assistance.

In order to provide you some scope of what Woodland Soccer Club provides its members each fall, consider that we have:

  • 1100 kids. 115 teams. 850 games to schedule.
  • 160 coaches and assistant coaches to assign.
  • 75 referees to coordinate.
  • Hundreds of soccer balls and cones.
  • 1,100 jerseys in numerous sizes and sets.
  • Thousands of hours of practice field space that has to be allocated.

Our registrars help register the kids, form teams, and assign coaches.  Our practice field coordinator assigns practice field space.  Our Uniform & Equipment volunteers coordinate and purchase all of our balls, uniforms, goals.  There are many tasks involved to provide our children with the best recreational soccer experience that an volunteer workforce can provide.

We do this because we love watching our kids play the beautiful game.  If you do, too, then please join us.  I think we’ve got a hat that’s just your size.
